In 2011, choreographer Örjan Andersson received Svenska Dagbladet's Opera Prize, among other things for his work '32 Variations', which he created for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani (then GöteborgsOperans Balett). From the jury's motivation: "With musical integrity, he lets the Gothenburg Opera's dancers carve out free parts for Beethoven's piano variations - sensitive and gripping." The work was part of the dance night Eroica at the premiere in 2010.
